We are here to support you through the psychological assessment process; helping you move towards finding answers, self-acceptance, and quality of life. Our assessment process empowers you on your journey towards self-discovery by supporting the things that make you different and discovering what makes you exceptional. We seek to understand your personal story and provide tailored psychological assessments based on your unique needs.

We view psychological assessments and diagnosis as one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. Whether you suspect you or your child are neurodivergent, there is support for you here.

Through a great range of differences and challenges, we strive to provide support that allows you to leave our clinic with answers, guidance, and hope. Our team is majority neurodivergent and identify as Autistic, an ADHDer, an AuDHDer, or Multiply Neurodivergent (Gifted, Autistic, and ADHDer). With this lived experience we find great purpose in supporting other neurodivergent people.
We are incredibly passionate about providing neurodiversity-affirming support services and aspire to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space for self-exploration and growth.
WHat’s next after assessment:
After receiving your feedback from the assessment process, it may be worthwhile exploring if therapy or groups will be useful for you. We have therapists available for ongoing support following your assessment. This may be 1:1 therapy to support your individual goals, strategies, and further self exploration or group support be amongst your neurokin. Therapy and groups are available for yourself, your child, or as a parent.
You do not need to have undertaken an assessment with us to book in for therapy or groups. We also provide couples counselling and hypnotherapy.

Comprehensive Psychological Assessment (6+)
We provide a comprehensive psychological assessment package for children and adults. This assessment package includes Cognitive (IQ), Academic, and General Screening Assessments. It identifies things such as Learning Differences, Cognitive Strengths and Vulnerabilities, and ADHD.
If you are an adult and do not require an IQ or learning assessment, please let us know and we will reduce your fee.
Each assessment is tailored for our clients unique needs and may include any of the following:

Academic (WIAT-III, Woodcock Johnson)
Specific Learning Differences
ADHD (DIVA-5, BRIEF-2)
Daily Living/Adaptive Functioning (Vinelands, ABAS)

Autism Assessment (4+)
Our psychologists provide comprehensive autism assessments for children, teens, and adults. This assessment package includes a thorough collection of background history, thorough Clinical Interview/s, daily living and autism specific assessment, brief IQ test, , and general screeners to check for co-occurring experiences such as Anxiety. Our psychologists use neuroaffirming and trusted assessments such as the MIGDAS and with younger children, the ADOS-2.

Combined Assessment (6+)
This assessment package is for children, adolescents, and adults who may show signs of more than one diagnosis/identity. This can include learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, and autism. This assessment is extremely thorough, to provide you with the most accurate information. This package requires a minimum of two seperate appointments.
Private: $3400 | NDIS Plan Managed: $3430.56 (charge 16 hrs - 960 mins.) | Core: $3600

ADHD + Autism Assessment (18+)
Our Autism and ADHD Combined Assessment is a comprehensive psychological assessment that aims to help better understand behaviours and offers strategies to manage symptoms effectively. It can offer diagnosis if diagnosis is met for ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder or both.
We offer diagnostic clarity Identifies the presence of ASD, ADHD, or both or neither.
Cognitive and Academic Testing: Provides insights into your cognitive abilities and academic performance.
Tailored Strategies: Offers practical strategies for managing symptoms at home, in school or at the workplace.
Support: Information to help accommodate unique needs in various settings.
This assessment is designed to provide a thorough understanding of strengths and challenges, ensuring that you receive the support you need to thrive.

HOW IT WORKS
Step One
Contact us to discuss your needs, book your assessment date, and organise additional information.
We tentatively reserve your booking for 48 hours. Your appointment will be confirmed once your booking deposit of 10% has been processed.
You will be sent online assessments to be completed prior to your appointment. If these forms have not been completed we may reschedule your appointment.
Step Two
Assessment day! Bring water and snacks.
Depending on the assessment you are booked in for you will be in the office for 1-4 hours.
Please ensure you have completed all prior paperwork and bring any requested documentation with you or forward to hello@heartandmindpsychology.org.
Step Three
At your feedback meeting, we provide your psychological report, recommendations, and answer your questions.
Follow up assessments may be organised by your psychologist if needed.
Your psychologist will send your report to any professionals working with you such as paediatrician or GP.

Yes, we offer our services online. Wherever you are in Australia, you have access to our team of clinicians. Through our virtual clinic, we provide psychological assessments and therapy supports with our highly experienced psychologists.
